We can tap into our “inner-Doberman,” a vigilant guardian of our newfound freedom to help us. Just as a Doberman guards its master with loyalty, courage, and strength, we can protect our sobriety with similar passion, guarding it against the temptations and pressures that could derail our progress.

In our journey, it’s tempting to seek quick fixes, external sources of wisdom, or rely on our own abilities. However, the solution to addiction and dependency is not found in the world’s systems but in surrendering to the transformative power of Christ.

In Acts 1:7, as Jesus speaks of his ascension, he tells his disciples, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.” In today’s culture driven by instant gratification, we often struggle with impatience. Yet, throughout Scripture, Jesus reminds us that it is not our role to determine when or how God’s plan will unfold.
